Chevalier College, a prestigious private school in the Southern Highlands of NSW, worked with JDH Architects, Grindley Construction, and Maxwood Technology to create a multi-purpose hall that prioritises student wellbeing and performance.
With a focus on reducing the risk of injuries during sport, the school invested in a professional-grade FIBA Level 1 certified sprung sports floor by Junckers, installed by Maxwood.
Maxwood also supplied and installed a 696-seat retractable seating system, giving the space the flexibility to be configured for show games, school assemblies, performances, and other events.
The hall’s design embraces natural timbers and colours, and abundant natural light to support student learning and wellbeing. To complement this aesthetic, high-grade solid Maple timber floorboards were selected for the sprung sports floor, and the retractable seating features light grey seats, creating a cohesive, functional, and visually appealing space that enhances both student experience and school programming.
