Bille Brown, Queensland Theatre

Named in honour of acclaimed Queensland actor and playwright Bille Brown, the Bille Brown Theatre is part of Queensland Theatre in Brisbane. In collaboration with Conrad Gargett Architects and Hutchinson Contractors, Maxwood Technology transformed the venue by replacing the old retractable seating with a 351-seat fixed corner-stage configuration.

The Kotobuki TS 712 chairs,  were customised to provide a contemporary aesthetic while delivering exceptional comfort and durability for patrons. In addition, Maxwood designed and installed a bespoke panel end-row LED lettering system and wall-recessed usher seating, ensuring both functionality and an enhanced theatre experience.

This installation created a modern, high-performing space that supports diverse programming while maintaining excellent sightlines and audience comfort.
